Acinetobacter baumannii is a nosocomial pathogen with a remarkable capacity for antimicrobial resistance. This bacterial species possesses the ability to form biofilms and survive on abiotic surfaces within hospitals, which makes it a common cause of ventilator associated pneumonia, bacteraemia, catheter associated urinary tract infections , and wound and burn infections.
