Direct Monte Carlo (MC) simulation is considered the gold standard approach for internal dosimetry in nuclear medicine, and it is increasingly used in planning Trans-Arterial Radio-Embolization (TARE) of HepatoCellular Carcinoma (HCC) {and hepatic metastases}.
