The article introduces the history of the horse in the times of the First Polish Republic, focusing particularly on its law aspects. The horse as a tool and a symbol of the ruling class played a key role in creating human civilisation, sometimes also through destruction. Furthermore, the Author outlines possible paths for further research into the issue of the horse influence on the society of the feudal system
