THE PROBLEM OF ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE

It is discussed the problem of antimicrobial resistance at the moment. The presented bibliographic data which confi rm the actuality of the problem at global level and the results of a transversal study realized by the authors concerning the local situation of antimicrobial resistance on the model of multi-profi le hospital from Chisinau. The study reveals an increased resistance to antibiotics of microorganisms isolated from patients with septic-purulent nosocomial infections, which averages 42,95%, with variations between 31.25% to 57.34% for grampositive and gramnegative microorganisms, the situation that requires the development and implementation of strategy to prevent antimicrobial resistance at the national level, the fortifi cation of the surveillance and monitoring of antimicrobial resistance, and creation of new antibacterial drugs
