Recently, three types of betanodavirus including red spotted grouper nervous necrosis virus (RGNNV), barfin flounder nervous necrosis virus (BFNNV), and Korean shellfish nervous necrosis virus (KSNNV) (proposed as a new fifth type) have been detected in shellfish in the marine environment around Korea.
