Objective To conduct a meta-analysis to show the associations of perioperative and postoperative outcomes of mini-plate internal fixation (MPIF) versus Kirschner wire internal fixation (KWIF) for treating metacarpal and phalangeal fractures. Methods A literature search was performed in PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Embase from the earliest date of data collection to April 2018. Studies that compared perioperative and postoperative outcomes of MPIF with those of KWIF in patients with metacarpal and phalangeal fractures were included.
