The effect of differentiated nitrogen fertilization on the yield and chosen grain quality parameters of selected spring wheat cultivars: Napola, Jasna and Kosma, growing under water deficit condition was studied. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse in 2002–2003, in Mitscherlich pots containing 6.5 kg of soil with differentiated (from the shooting phase) moisture level (40 or 60% of full water capacity). The following doses of N were applied: 0.6, 1.2, 2.4 g/pot. Plants were harvested at full ripeness. It was shown that water deficiency in soil decreased the grain yield of all varieties in comparison with the control ones (optimum water condition).
