This paper presents a review of the literature about authenticity of records, beginning with thefoundational theoretical literature in order to frame current writing on authenticity of digital records. The main body of literature considered that is the foundation of the European, NorthAmerican, and Australian archival discipline, as it relates to issues of authenticity in the creation, management, use, and preservation of records and data (regardless of medium)
