In this study, we are looking for the most relevant approach to the concept of “public urban space” and examines tendencies in the evolution of both the definition itself and the research approach to its study. The research methodology presents an analysis of the historical process of understanding and defining the public urban space and an analytical comparison of typological concepts based on the interdisciplinary approach to the study of the public urban space.
