The approach to the study of the bearing capacity loss process of eccentrically compressed rod in contact with the external aggressive environment is invented. Taking into account the phenomenon of damage of the rod material received and analyzed the equation of the destruction front motion, and the equation describing the growth of its deflection. It is noted that the loss of the bearing capacity of the rod determines the priority of one of these two processes
