MTh (Dogmatiek), North-West University, Potchefstroom CampusThe United Nations Charter of Human Rights was adopted as a universal declaration on 10 December 1948 in Paris. Among other things, it focuses on the rights of the next generation, which includes the rights to clean air, water, an environment free from pollution, and the appreciation for an environment full of biodiversity. Our actions today determine the future for future generations. Therefore, the integrity, preciousness, and value of creation must be understood and the rights of life, in addition to the rights of humanity, applied and maintained with the same power and authority. Every human being must realize that all beings have value, and that humanity is part of creation and do not function separately. Christians must set the example where human beings act as caregivers. The purpose of this study is to try and create a balance and indicates that humanity does not rule in a supreme authority, and that the spirit and essence of human beings are intertwined with God's creation. The role of humanity and human beings's view of ourselves in creation must change! In this study I want to place the roles of caretakers and rulers in a direction of harmony. As Christians, we have a responsibility to God's creation. The eschatological future of humanity and creation is intertwined. Humanity as the crown of creation, confirms special acquired qualities, which make us different from animals, but it does not place us in an exalted position above the rest of creation.Master
