Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is an important nosocomial pathogen in immunocom-promised individuals and characterized by intrinsic resistance to broad-spectrum antibacterial agents. Limited data exists on its clinical relevance in immunocompromised pediatric patients, particularly those with hematological or oncological disorders.
