Introduction: Occurrence of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) is high in hospitalised and critically ill patients. Most of the cases reported by the developed countries are Hospital Acquired Acute Kidney Injury (HA-AKI). AKI is a major medical complication in the developing world also and is due to predominantly community acquired causes, where the epidemiology differs from that in developed countries.
