This work is devoted the research of jeweller’s art of Moldova. The main goal is to complete historiographical gap in this fi eld and learn the history of jeweller’s art. At the dawn of civilization adornments were as talismans and amulets and were made of cockleshells and coloured stones. The utilization of uncoloured and transparent stones was begun in the Middle Ages. Those times the coloured stones have become secondary ones. Museum collections with historic and archival documents are right proof in the development of jeweller’s art of Moldova during all historical epochs.
