This paper summarizes the deformation or fracture of the structural members due to impact load and the velocity achieved during the period of impact loading. A sudden shock that causes deformation or fracture in a metal or concrete member within a short period of time is known as an impact test. The purposes of the impact test are to absorb the heavy load. The toughness, impact resistance, and fracture resistance can be determined with the help of an impact test.
