Soil erosion represents one of the main environmental problems in several Brazilian river basins, due, for example, to natural characteristics. Thus, the objective of this research was to verify the natural erosion potential (NEP) of the soils in the hydrographic sub-basin of the Vista Alegre stream (HBVAS), located in the municipality of Muniz Freire, state of Espírito Santo, in order to support possible improvements in environmental planning and local economic productivity. The procedures took place in the ArcGIS® program. Initially, HBVAS was delimited.
