Stimulus-stimulus pairing (SSP) is a procedure that has been investigated for producing novel vocalizations in children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The behavioral processes embedded are still poorly known and the effectiveness varies between studies. Children's characteristics and procedure variables are possible factors for this variation.
