This research aimed to find out types of errors and the errors frequently occurred in using passive voice that made by third grade students of MTsN 3 Kuantan Singingi. The errors were classified using Surface Strategy Taxonomy theory proposed by Dulay et al (1982). This study was conducted by using descriptive design. The writer took 30 students of third grade students of MTsN 3 Kuantan Singingi as sample. The researcher used test as a research instrument. The test consisted of 25 active sentences within present and past tense to change in to passive voice.
