The health benefits of dietary fish oil consumption have been widely reported. Eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA) acids, two omega-3 fatty acids (ω-3 FA) found in fish oil, have been associated with anti-inflammatory effects through the reduction of pro-inflammatory mediators and their metabolism to specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs).
