DEKONSTRUKSI DAN REKONSTRUKSI KUASA KEPEMIMPINAN DALAM TRANSFORMASI LAYANAN PERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH YOGYAKARTA (UMY) DI MASA NEW NORMAL

The deconstruction of leadership power is meant as a reading of critical thinking behavior and structures that can minimize overreaction so as to provide alternative ideas and strategies in dealing with crises. These critical ideas are used as a reference in reconstructing policies and transforming library services, their effectiveness has an effect on service productivity in the new normal period. The goal of this study was to figure out what deconstruction meant in leadership relations in the practice of power at the UMY library, how deconstructed power relations were applied to the transformation of UMY library services during the pandemic, and what leadership strategy was used to deal with any changes or challenges posed by the pandemic. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with a constructivism and critical interpretive paradigm. The research informants were selected based on purposive sampling. Data collection techniques are based on observation, interviews, and documentation. Primary data is direct observation of library service activities during the Covid-19 period and the results of interviews with informants. Secondary data in the form of documents that supports credible primary data. Data analysis is based on data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity test includes credibility with triangulation techniques (source, technique, and time) then using transferability, dependability, and confirm ability, the validation of this research data is chosen so that the actual data displayed meets the truth value, consistency and neutrality. Findings of the study 1) actualize the meaning of leadership power deconstruction, UMY library uses an organizational system (normalization, regulation, and adaptation) where a leader becomes leader has to be seen. This deconstruction does not create something revolutionary but reveals the meaning of leadership power with a new collective way, the realization of leadership based on the Muhammadiyah organization ideology professionally and democratically resulting in super leadership. 2) The reconstruction of the library service transformation implies the need for a digital link. Where services refer to dromology namely speed and effectiveness (integrated services), while conventional services are still enforced by complying with the Covid-19 health protocol. 3) The strategy developed by the library leadership is impersonal cooperation, then optimizing the use of technology media (websites and social media) on a massive and integrated basis, and has heterotopia as an alternative space in the form of a corner physically or virtually
