ASPEK HUKUM PENGELOLAAN LIMBAH DI KEBUN BINATANG GEMBIRA LOKA

Waste generated by conservation institutions, both solid and liquid waste generally received less attention, one of which is the Gembira Loka Zoo in Yogyakarta as one of the ex-situ conservation institutions. Waste generated from Gembira Loka Zoo is in the form of organic waste which affects the changes in the water quality of the Gajah Wong River and can cause the possibility of water pollution. Legally as a conservation institution, zoos are required to manage waste generated both solid and liquid waste, have facilities in waste management, and conduct environmental management. This means that waste management in exsitu conservation institutions is one of the key factors in the success of the development of conservation objects in the future. This type of research is field research with an empirical juridical approach. The data analysis method used is descriptive analytic. Data was collected by the compiler by interview and documentation. The theory used to analyze is the theory of licensing and waste. The results of the study explained that the waste management at the Gembira Loka Zoo in Yogyakarta was well realized and was in accordance with applicable regulations. It's just that pollution control faces one obstacle that is not having a laboratory to check the quality of fertilizers from animal feces as well as shelters for liquid waste from animal shelters and visitors
