PENGARUH KEGIATAN PENDIDIKAN PEMAKAI (USER EDUCATION) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PENCARIAN INFORMASI MAHASISWA DIPERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS ISLAM NEGERI SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA

This thesis aims to describe and analyze 1) user education in the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library, Yogyakarta. 2) the ability to search for information on students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta after participating in user education activities at the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library in Yogyakarta. 3) the influence of user education on the students' information retrieval ability at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This type of research is descriptive quantitative and associative. The sample in this study were 97 students of he UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta class of 2019. Sampling was conducted using nonprobability sampling technique. To obtain valid data, the authors used several data collection techniques, namely questionnaires and interviews. The main data collection used a questionnaire, a measuring tool for answers with a percentage and supporting data by interviewing one of the librarians of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. From the results of the study described in tabular form and analyzed using interpretation with sentences containing research conclusions. The results obtained from this study are 1) user education activities at the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Library starting from the preparation activities before the implementation and the end of the user education activities. 2) after participating in user education activities, students can search for the desired information, 3) user education has an influence on the understanding of student information retrieval at the Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Library, Yogyakarta. Based on the results of the overall data analysis, it can be concluded that the effect of user education on students' information retrieval abilities in the Sunan Kalijaga UIN Library, Yogyakarta is good. In terms of user education goals, user education materials, user education time, information search tools and information retrieval methods. The resulting influence was 36.6%. These results are obtained from calculations using a simple linear regression formula
