The black market for counterfeit works of art is the third most lucrative in the world. The digitalization of art and introduction into the virtual environment allows for a high rate of these counterfeit works. The issue of verifying original works in the online environment currently brings new challenges in the field of forensic science, in particular fields of color vision and working with light, colors, and color models, thus opening new approaches of art verification and presentation.
