HIV has become a chronic disease in France. Nevertheless, HIV and associated inflammation, the effects of antiretroviral exposure, the high prevalence of modifiable risk factors for age-related diseases (e.g. smoking) and the effects of other viral co-infections together with social and economic vulnerability make the quality of life of people living with HIV (PLWH) an ongoing concern.
