To study the clinical course of psoriasis in metabolic syndrome (MS) 93 patients with plaque psoriasis were examined. All patients were divided into 2 groups: Group I included 48 patients with psoriasis and MS and Group II included 45 patients with psoriasis without MS. The psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) was used to measure overall psoriasis severity and coverage. MS was diagnosed according to the recommendations of the International Diabetes Federation (2005). There were determined the body mass index (BMI), insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) as well as quality of life and social adaptation of patients (DLQI).
