THE POTENCY OF JAKABARING SPORT CITY AS A SPORT TOURISM ATTRACTION IN PALEMBANG

The purpose of this final report was to find out the potency of Jakabaring Sport City as a tourism attraction in Palembang. The writer used descriptive method because the writer analyzed the data descriptively. The data were collected through interview and observation. The result of this research shows that Jakabaring Sport City has potency as a sport tourism attraction in Palembang because of Jakabaring Sport City often holding events locally, nationally and internationally such as PON in 2004, ASEAN GAMES in 2011, Islamic solidarity games in 2013, and Asean university games in 2014 also Jakabaring Sport City has fulfilled supporting factors of tourism there are attraction, facilities, infrastructure, transportation and hospitality. Therefore, the writer wishes to let the people know that Jakabaring Sport City has potency as a sport tourism attraction.
