The aims of this research is to determine the potential for development of biodiesel from waste cooking oil using the raw material for making biodiesel that has been designed with varying concentrations of NaOH catalyst in order to obtain optimal process variables and the resulting products of biodiesel according to the standard as the first step to realize the national energy independence. The process of making biodiesel using trans-esterification stage with the ratio between the oil-methanol is 1: 4 (% v), the time used for 60 minutes at 400C temperature, stirring speed of 400 rpm and use a catalyst NaOH with a concentration of 0.4%, 0.6 %, 0.8%, 1.0% and 1.2% wt.
