The processesthatoccur inthese equipmentsisthe process ofsedimentation, becausePOMEwhichleftsometimewill separate intotwolayers, namelywaterandsludge. Thisequipment designshapedlike aconeso that thesedimentation processis fasterandthe separation ofwaterandsludgecan bedone easily.Andas a comparison, the treatment of POME at Palm Oil Industry that use ponds system shaped like blockbuton a small scale. The volumeon bothof these equipments isas much as 36liters ofPOME.In order todeterminethe efficiency ofthese two equipments, theresidence timeofthe separationprocessof POMEiscalculatedevery1hour, 3hours, 6hours, 10hours, and24hoursforeachflow rateof 200L/min, 300L/min, and400L/min.Andfromthe data obtained, the efficiency ofthe equipment design Iis better thanequipment design II. If the Flow rate is faster, it will be sooner residence time, and the efficiency of the equipment will better in treating Palm Oil Mill Effuent (POME). From processingof POME treatmentwiththis sedimentation equipmentcan also produceuseful products. Sludgecanbe usedas anorganicliquid fertilizeralternativetooil palm plantationsreplacerelativelyexpensivechemicalfertilizers, andwatercanbe usedagaintoprocessthat requires.
