Besides different methods of combinative breeding, mutations and selection in last few years, the most modern biotechnological methods are more and more implemented in fruit and grapevine breeding. In almost all breeding programs, among numerous methods of biotechnology, genetic transformations are very successfully applied. Till now, genetic engineering in fruits and grapevine species was done with limited success, but in future it promises a lot.
