The paper presents the study results of the content of mobile Ni in serpentine rankers of Serbia. The samples were taken from seven wider locations (Zlatibor, Kopaonik, Miroč, Maljen, Bukovi, Suvobor and Bubanj Potok) in the altitudinal zone between 100 and 1700 m. Extraction of mobile Ni was conducted with 1.0 N HC1, and its contents were determined by the method of atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The results of analysis show that around 70% of the tested samples contain 200 - 600 mg/kg of mobile Ni, which is far above the admissible quantities for the total Ni in the soil.
