Field dodder is a parasitic and heterotrophic flowering plant. This group of weeds has been studied relatively little even though they cause enormous damage to various crops each year. Available literature offers reference on the taxonomy, biodiversity and distribution of heterotrophic parasites, and provides data on plants hosting the field dodder species as parasites, but there are few reports on the relationship between the parasite and host-plant from a morpho-anatomical aspect. Anatomical research is especially important for understanding the local adaptation and the phenomenon of co evolution interaction of a parasite to host-plant.
