Sugarcane (Sacharum officinarum L) is a type of grass plant. Sugarcane grows in the lowlands to an altitude of 1,400 m above sea level. The optimal temperature in sugarcane cultivation is between 240C – 340C. Sugarcane grows well in areas with rainfall between 1,000 – 1,300 mm per year and at least 3 dry months. In 2017, sugarcane production decreased per hectare, which was below 100 tons. The decline in sugarcane production will affect domestic sugar production. Domestic sugar production cannot be fulfilled, one of which is caused by problems in sugarcane production.
