PEMODELAN DINAMIK NON-LINEAR DAN ANALISIS PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK TENAGA MIKROHIDRO (PLTMH) STUDI KASUS: PLTMH UMM

In the power plant operation, one of which is the Micro Hydro Power Plant, the incoming energy of the plant needs to be balanced with the customer load. Sometimes, this balance can be disturbed, even if there are only very small changes happen. This occurrence is caused by sudden changes in customer load. If the system cannot be balanced, it may cause the generator rotation speed and the system voltage to turn aside from normal conditions so that the energy will be decreased. In this research, non-linear modeling of the Micro Hydro Power Plant system will be conducted, aiming to provide alternatives for handling the stabilization of the Micro Hydro Power Plant optimally in order to reduce the energy loss caused by load changes. Besides that, the effort to keep the electric power system stable was adding a Power System Stabilizer (PSS), which provided an additional signal for the generator's excitation system. PSO and GA methods were applied to improve PSS performance. The simulation conducted on MATLAB 2017B showed that the non-linear model of the power system produced generator rotation speeds with a quite better settling time compared to the linear model. Besides that, the addition of PSS had big influences in making the overshoot value smaller, and also, the overall PSS-PSO method showed better results than the PSS-GA method
