Poster presented at the 2021 Southeast Data Librarian Symposium on October 14, 2021. iNaturalist is a platform where citizen scientists, biologists, and naturalists share observations of organisms like the humble crawfish. Through crowd-sourced data collection, iNaturalist users directly contribute to an open, research-grade biodiversity dataset and strengthen their data literacy skills. Librarians can use both the iNaturalist data collection workflow and the resulting data in data literacy instruction for a wide range of audiences and skill levels.
