Based on an artistic practice of sculpture and horseback riding, this thesis in visual artsexplores our relationship with animals, and more specifically with horses. In the same waythat Pygmalion gives form to Galatea, we perceive the artistic gesture as domestication anddressage, a technique allowing us to shape raw material and to frame our ideal companion,thus giving substance to our fantasies. Through an autofictional perspective, we propose atransformation of our identity by suggesting that we consider horseback riding as a trategythatoffers us access to a more powerful, faster, freer body, with greater function.
