The effect of planting distances on coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) seed production

Se evaluaron tres distancias entre leras (0,3; 0,4 y 0,5 m) y tres distancias entre plantas (0,1; 0,2 y 0,3 m) sobre la producción de semillas de culantro. El periodo experimental se efectuó de 12 de noviembre de 1982 al 16 de febrero de 1983 en la Estación Experimental Fabio Baudrit. Durante todo el ensayo se aplicaron riesgos por aspersión. Las mayores producciones de semilla de 0,91 kg/7,9 m² (1,15 t/ha) y 0,89 kg/7,9 m² (1,12 t/ha) se obtuvieron con 0.3 m entre surcos y 0,1 m entre plantas respectivamente. En cuanto al número y peso de semillas por planta, el efecto en ambos casos de las distancias entre surcos y entre plantas fueron lineales y positivos. El mayor número y peso de las semillas por planta fue de 41,90 y 46,49 g al utilizar 0,5 m entre surcos y 0,3 entre plantas respectivemente.The effect of three planting distances between rows (0.3, 0.4, 0.5 m) and between plants (0.1, 0.2, 0.3) was tested on the seed yield of coriander. The experiment was conducted during the period from November 12th , 1982 to February 16th, 1983 at the Fabio Baudrit experimental station, Alajuela, Costa Rica, Sprinkler irrigation was provided. The highest seed yield, of 0.91 kg/7.9 m² (1.15 t/ha) and 0,89 kg/7.9 m² (1.12 t/ha) were obtained with 0.3m between rows and 0.1m between plantas, respectively. The effect of both distance between rows and plants as far as the number and weight of seeds per plant, was positive and linear.
