This Article examines the innovative Costa Rican novel from the text of Alexander Obando: El más violento paraíso. First, it makes an approximation to the time-space coordinates of the novel, from the theoretic speech of Latin American postmodernism. Second, we analyze the carnival sense construction of the literary text, to set the proposal which is present in the novel.El presente artículo estudia la novísima novela costarricense a partir del texto de Alexander Obando: El más violento paraíso. En primer lugar, se realiza una aproximación a las coordenadas espacio-temporales de la novela, desde el discurso teórico de la posmodernidad latinoamericana.
