Los pepinos de mar tienen un importante papel ecológico en el medio marino, ya que son capaces de alimentarse de la materia orgánica e inorgánica, con lo cual contribuyen a la oxigenación y la transferencia de energía en el ecosistema. En general, existe una falta de conocimiento de la morfología básica de especies nativas de pepino de mar y la función de los órganos vitales. El objetivo de este estudio fue describir la histología del tracto digestivo (DT) de tres especies de holotúridos de la bahía del Rodadero, Colombia.
