The present article seeks to analyze certain examples of Spanglish as the result of languages in contact from a lexical perspective. Borrowings and lexical code switching will be analyzed in non-institutionalized conversations among a sample of Spanish speakers’ community from the second and third generations of immigrants in Florida.El presente artículo pretende analizar algunas manifestaciones del spanglish como educto de lenguas en contacto a nivel léxico. En particular, se analizarán, en un corpus de conversaciones no institucionalizadas, los préstamos y los cambios de código monoléxicos en una muestra de la comunidad hispanohablante perteneciente a la segunda y tercera generación de inmigrantes en la Florida
