Continued global warming and the increase in climate extremes have mostly been identified in Northern and Arctic areas of Russia. Investigation of natural and climatic conditions in these regions was conducted using the method of zoning that is based on the environmental conditions of human life. This method estimates the relatively slowly changing landscape component and the rapidly changing climate component of the discomfort. Transitional natural zones represent an open system for the impact of climatic changes. A positive trend in the number of active temperatures and a negative precipitation trend was observed in these regions.
