Scottish poet Edwin Muir’s poem “The Refugees Born for A Land Unknown” described the precarious journey of refugees who, escaping death and cruelty at home, arrive at their destination only to find “no doors open” leading them to think “the world died many years ago.” The poem describes what Rohingya refugees, “the world’s most persecuted minority,” have been through from escaping massacre at their home country, Myanmar, to currently living in miserable conditions at the refugee camps in Bangladesh. This image reflects the suffering of a group of Rohingyas, representing similar stories of a million refugees living in Bangladesh.
