Extended-cavity semiconductor lasers in integrated photonics are compact, exhibit narrow linewidth, low power consumption and are compatible with mass production. They are therefore ideal sources for many applications in C-band such as embedded lidar systems or coherent data transmission. Within this framework, this thesis presents so-called hybrid sources, based on the butt-coupling between a InGaAsP/InP gain medium and a passive silicon nitride (Si3N4) component. Firstly, a hybrid laser composed of a reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) butt-coupled to a Bragg grating is studied theoretically and experimentally.
