In order to solve the problem of the high sensitivity of conventional double-layer model predictive control (DLMPC) algorithm to the process white noise and disturbance, we proposed an improved strategy integrating the tunnel control, which sacrifices a small part of the economic performance for a more smooth and stable control effect. By selecting an appropriate robust factor, an allowable economic performance zone is determined. The tunnel control strategy is implemented by selecting an appropriate weighting matrix for the output error in the control cost function.
