The seismological station SDOF is located in the immediate vicinity of the Chassiron lighthouse, on the north-western tip of the Ile d'Oléron (Charente-Maritime). The site consists of a Trilium 120 PH installed in a 10m deep borehole and a Centaur3-6S digitizer installed in an outdoor bay. It is remotely monitored using the ABAC cabinet built during the Résif-CLB project. The sensor, when it is lowered, is directed by the laser beam visible down the well. The station is located in an open grassy area a few metres east of the car park used by the lighthouse staff.
