Breast cancer is a major public health problem. Physical activity (PA) is a way to fight against the undesirable effects of the disease and treatments. However, patients perceive several obstacles and barriers to PA. This explains why the amount of PA of women with breast cancer decreases drastically after the announcement. The concept of self-efficacy helps to explain the commitment or not to the practice of PA. Self-efficacy is a major psychosocial determinant of PA engagement and is included in the transtheoretical model of change.
