The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of speed of motion and body weight on peak muscle torque and muscle ratios of the hamstrings, quadriceps, dorsiflexors, and plantarflexors in men and women. Sixteen males and eighteen females, ages 18-49 years, performed four repetitions of knee flexion and extension at 60./second and 180./second, and ankle dorsiflexion and plantarflexion at 30./second and 60./second on the Cybex 340 isokinetic dynamometer.
