The Fourth Annual Report of the Oregon Intellectual Freedom Clearinghouse was released today to commemorate the Freedom of Information Day. The report summarized the 54 written challenges made in Oregon during the school year that ended June 30, 1991, including a challenge about children’s access to adult materials at the Multnomah County Library. The most frequent objections to public and school library materials were graphic sex, violence and occult themes. Seven materials were ordered removed from library shelves in Oregon by school officials or review committees
