Most research on leadership and its impact in organizations is focused either on forprofit organizations or on nonprofit organizations, and often does not compare the two to examine if each leader has different needs. This study investigated a nonprofit leader’s credibility, nonverbal immediacy, and the climate of their direct reports team, and the impact of these variables on the number of volunteers the organization attracts, the average dollar amount donors give to the organization, whether or not the nonprofit leader engages in mentoring, and the employee retention rate of the organization
