This thesis reports on qualitative research that addresses the identity work that Latino men who have sex men (MSM) engage in. Participants took part in one on one semi-structured interviews that delved into their experiences with both their ethnic community and the larger homosexual community. Results shed light on the nuanced ways that Latino MSM create, maintain, and express their identity. The findings provide a rich beginning into an area of research that has not been explored extensively. Additionally, several theoretical, methodological, and practical implications for communication and queer studies were identified in light of the results
