In the United States today, young adults’ numeracy rates rank near-last in the developed world (OECD 2013), and a majority of college students report that they rarely use numbers to solve real-world problems (NSSE 2013). However, being quantitatively literate is more important in today’s data-driven culture than ever. What should all BSU students know and be able to do with numbers, and how can we help them to achieve more? Our multi-disciplinary panel will share what is known about student and faculty engagement with quantitative reasoning at BSU, and bring perspectives, ideas, and strategies from their own teaching to help participants identify ways to support their students\u27 success
